Inspired by the beautiful landscape of the Port Hills. Honeybees gather and are in full discussion. They waggle dance, a waggling movement performed by a honeybee at the hive or nest to indicate to other bees the direction and distance of a source of food. Ashleigh was inspired to explore what brings her happiness, the beautiful landscape of New Zealand, and the natural wildlife within! Ashleigh Ritchie is a qualified North Canterbury artist beginning her full-time career in the art industry. Ashleigh began her Bachelor of applied visual arts at Ara Institute of Canterbury (CPIT) in 2012, graduating in 2014 with an additional FRIENDS of the Christchurch Art Gallery Scholarship for excellence in studies. Ashleigh has successfully exhibited works in multiple group shows and is a member of Arts Canterbury in Christchurch, Rangiora Art Society and Ashburton Art Society.
